Vilma from Albanian Trip helped us plan and run a 4-day private tour on our custom itinerary, even though I changed the itinerary often and wanted to do things off the beaten track, she made it work for us. Communicating with her was a breeze as she was quick, responsive, direct and professional.

After that we were blessed with probably the best guide we have come across our travels, Ervin Budo. From the first morning he met us to the final evening when he dropped us off, it felt like we were going around with a long-time friend. Had we gone alone or with anyone else we wouldn’t have enjoyed Albania half as much as we did. He went above and beyond to make our trip special, whether that be translating conversations with grandpas in villages or accommodating for my senior parents who walk slowly and need breaks or getting us traditional sweets or gifting me a guidebook. There was never a dull moment with him as he had a treasure trove of stories to tell and even at sites where information wasn’t apparent he shared volumes of knowledge and stories, which he has developed over 20 years of his work. He had connections and networks everywhere and even where he didn’t, he made friends rapidly with people making sure we receive the best experience. Ervin is very well read and is very curious about his country and the world. He did all of this with a permanent smile on his face, a brilliant sense of humour and warmth.

The next time we visit Albania, I will try my best to ensure we travel with Albanian Trip and hopefully once again with Ervin as our guide.
